We’re looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to drive growth within the contract recruitment space. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established and highly respected consultancy that has built a 24-year reputation for excellence in permanent recruitment—and is now expanding its presence in the contract and interim market.
What You’ll Be Doing
As our first dedicated hire into the contract recruitment division, you’ll play a lead role in business development—bringing in new contract clients, building lasting relationships, and raising the brand’s profile within engineering sectors across the UK.
You’ll be working with some of the UK’s most prestigious engineering clients, including advanced vehicle manufacturers and cutting-edge R&D firms in the electric and autonomous vehicle space. Supported by a team of specialist engineering consultants skilled in sourcing rare and in-demand talent, you’ll focus on client acquisition, relationship building, and growth strategy.
This is more than a sales role—it’s a genuine opportunity to shape a division, influence strategy, and carve out a long-term leadership path.
What We’re Looking For- Proven experience in recruitment, ideally with a strong focus on business development and contract roles
- A natural relationship-builder with the confidence to engage with senior stakeholders
- A consultative approach—you listen, understand client pain points, and propose real solutions
- Deep understanding (or genuine interest) in engineering and technology sectors
- Self-motivated, target-driven, and capable of managing your own workload
- Track record of bringing on new clients and developing long-term partnerships
- Competitive base salary with uncapped commission structure based on personal performance
- Office based initially, then hybrid working model: 3 days in the office, 2 from home after probation
