The Single Enforcement Body
There is a new watchdog to protect the rights of UK workers – the Single Enforcement Body
They will take over responsibility for tackling modern slavery, enforcing the minimum wage and protecting agency workers.
The move will see the Gangmasters and Labour Abuse Authority, the Employment Agency Standards Inspectorate and HMRC's National Minimum Wage Enforcement combined into a single body.
The government's Gov.uk website states: "This 'one-stop shop' approach will help improve enforcement through better co-ordination and pooling intelligence.
"The new watchdog will also enhance workers' rights by providing a single, recognisable port of call for workers so they know their rights and can blow the whistle on bad behaviour."

Blair Think-Tank
Interesting report:
The relative success of pandemic-era working from home could result in as many as 6m white-collar jobs being moved overseas, Tony Blair's think-tank has warned this morning.
The last year has loosened the geographical ties of work, argues a new report from the think-tank, that makes it possible "anywhere jobs" could be done overseas.
A report by the former prime minister's think tank said that the remote working "mass experiment" had made white-collar roles vulnerable to being shipped overseas.
About 5.9 million jobs — 18 per cent of the UK's workforce — could be move offshore, the report found.
Economists, accountants, graphic designers and software experts face unemployment on a scale similar to the loss of manufacturing jobs in the Eighties and Nineties "but on an accelerated timeframe", it said.

ARE BUSINESS CARDS DEAD?
As we know in business, the importance of branding and consistency across our marketing channels is massive; do business cards still have a part to play
Business networks have been established and maintained through LinkedIn, Zoom and Google Hangouts, Clubhouse and even Networking events have gone digital, and remain digital in full or part despite restrictions being lifted.
Apparently; 88% of business cards handed out get thrown away in less than a week.
Our Associate Director ran a poll with some suprising results:

Celebrating the very best in workplace engagement
Earning a place on a list as one of the UK's Best Companies to Work For is an accolade like no other. It recognises your commitment to your employees and demonstrates that you see workplace engagement as a vital part of your organisation's success.
Being named as a Best Company is something that organisations the length and breadth of the nation strive for – but only the very best achieve. It's a unique opportunity to tell a positive PR story, in turn helping you attract and retain the best talent, set you apart from the competition and win new business.
Every year, 'Best Companies'celebrate those who've made it and host a showcase event to congratulate such outstanding achievement. For 2021 they hosted their first ever virtual event, Best Companies Live, where they not only unveiled who made each list, but enjoyed discussions around some of the most important topics around engagement and the future of the workplace.
